Cricket Formats and Bangladesh's Favourite Tournaments
The first step to understanding cricket betting is having a clear picture of the different formats. The pace of play, scoring, and betting markets all vary by format.
T20 Cricket
In this 20-over format, runs come quickly and the result can shift at any moment. Bangladeshi bettors are most active in three competitions: BPL (Bangladesh Premier League), IPL and the T20 World Cup. The full result is known within 3–4 hours, making it ideal for live betting.
ODI Cricket
In a One Day International, each team bats for 50 overs. The ICC World Cup and bilateral series are played in this format. The pace of an innings is different from T20, and mid-innings analysis plays a big role in betting decisions. Odds shift noticeably during the five powerplay overs and the middle-phase spells.
Test Cricket
In a five-day Test match, a draw is a valid result, so the betting market includes a draw option. Pitch conditions, weather and the nature of the wicket directly influence the odds. Betting markets in international Test series and ICC World Test Championship matches offer a much wider variety.
Betting on Football and Other Sports
Alongside cricket, baji also offers football betting. The difference is that football matches are more likely to end in a draw, so you need to account for three outcomes — home win, away win, and draw. In T20 there are only two outcomes to weigh up, which is comparatively straightforward.
Sports like kabaddi or hockey have a limited number of markets. Cricket offers the most markets of any sport — from match result through to runs in a specific over. That is why cricket betting at baji is particularly popular among cricket fans.

Popular Betting Markets in Cricket — How Each One Works
Several markets are available for cricket betting at baji. Each works differently — below is a plain explanation of the main ones.
Match Winner
A bet on which of the two teams will win — a straightforward question. There is no draw in T20 or ODI, so there are only two options. Example: bet on either Team A or Team B.
Toss Bet
You can bet on which team will win the toss before the match starts. This is a completely even-odds bet. It has no connection to the match result, so it is treated separately.
Top Batsman
This market is a bet on which batsman will score the most runs in an innings. The team's batting order and pitch conditions play an important role here.
Total Runs Over/Under
This bet is on whether the total runs in a match or a specific innings will be above (over) or below (under) a set number. Analysing the pitch report and team strengths is important here.
Top Wicket Taker
A bet on which bowler will take the most wickets in a match. When the pitch favours bowlers, odds in this market move more. You need to consider whether spinners or pacers have the greater advantage.
Multi Bet (Multiple Matches)
Adding bets from several matches to the same ticket multiplies the odds. Example: combining three matches at odds of 1.60, 1.80 and 1.90 gives combined odds of 1.60 × 1.80 × 1.90 = 5.47 (approximately); a ৳100 bet returns ৳547 if you win — but if any one selection loses, the entire bet is lost.
Handicap and Over/Under Bets
In a handicap bet, the weaker team is given a virtual advantage. For example, if a strong team is chasing 180 runs, the weaker team might have 10 runs added to level the equation. This makes the betting more balanced.
In an over/under market, you do not need to back a specific team or player — you just decide whether the total runs or wickets will be above or below a set number. This is why the market is quite popular with new bettors.

Odds in Three Formats — Decimal, Fractional and American
Cricket betting odds at baji may be displayed in three different formats. All three express the same information in different ways. Use the two examples below to understand how it all works.
Example 1 — Team A to win (৳1,000 bet):
Decimal 2.50 = Fractional 3/2 = American +150.
If Team A wins, total return is ৳2,500 (profit ৳1,500 + original stake ৳1,000). If Team A loses, the full ৳1,000 is gone.
Example 2 — Favourite Team B (৳1,000 bet):
Decimal 1.25 = Fractional 1/4 = American -400.
American minus odds show how much you need to bet to make a ৳100 profit. If Team B wins, the return is ৳1,250 (profit only ৳250), because Team B is the favourite.
Decimal Odds
Multiply your stake by the decimal odds to get the total return including your stake. At odds of 2.50, a ৳1,000 bet returns ৳2,500 in total. This is the most common format in Europe and online betting.
Fractional Odds
3/2 means a profit of ৳3 for every ৳2 staked. The original stake is returned separately. This format is traditionally used in UK horse racing and cricket betting.
American Odds
A plus (+) sign shows the profit on a ৳100 bet. A minus (-) sign shows how much you need to stake to make a ৳100 profit. +150 means a ৳100 bet earns ৳150 profit; -400 means you need to stake ৳400 to make ৳100 profit.
Live In-Play Betting — Odds Change as the Match Goes On
You can still place bets after a match has started — this is called live or in-play betting. In this mode, odds change after every ball. For example, when a big wicket falls, the batting team's odds lengthen quickly because their chances of winning have gone down.
After each over, looking at the scorecard gives you a sense of what might happen in the next over. If two wickets have fallen by the end of the powerplay, the run rate is more likely to slow in the middle overs — and that change is reflected in the in-play odds.
There is less time to decide in live betting. That is why it helps to know the match details in advance and set a budget beforehand. baji's in-play interface shows real-time scores and odds updates side by side.
- When a wicket falls: the run rate comes under pressure and the batting team's odds lengthen.
- During a big partnership: the batting team's odds shorten.
- Rain or bad light stoppage: odds are temporarily suspended.
- Few runs needed in the final over: the batting team's odds shorten significantly.
Practical Tips for Cricket Betting
Betting is a form of entertainment — but a few basic habits can keep the experience positive.
- Set a budget: Decide in advance how much money you will use for betting. Do not go beyond that limit.
- Start with one market: Rather than going into many markets at once, start with straightforward ones like match winner or over/under.
- Check pitch and weather: A spinner-friendly pitch tends to produce lower scores, so this information is useful in the over/under market.
- Know the team's composition: Whether key batsmen are playing and whether there are any injuries — check these before placing a top batsman bet.
- No rushing in live betting: Time is short in in-play betting, but it is better not to place large bets on impulse.
- Be careful with multi bets: Even if the combined odds look attractive, every selection in a multi bet must win — if one loses, everything is lost.
Try a Crash Game During a Cricket Break
When there is a match interval or play is stopped due to rain, many people spend the time on crash games. Crash betting at baji is a separate section where you cash out before a rising multiplier crashes. Special bonus offers are also available on these games — for details, visit the baji Crash Bonus page, where the offer terms and how it works are explained.
Crash games and cricket betting are two different experiences, but both can be enjoyed from the same baji account.
